Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. oatmeal
    1 1/2 c. hot water
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Combine oatmeal and water; set aside to cool.
    Cream shortening, brown sugar and regular sugar until fluffy.
    Beat in eggs, one at a time.
    Sift flour, salt and soda; fold into creamed mixture.
    Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake about 40 minutes at 350\u00b0 or until tests done.
