Ingredients

2 3/4 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
3 eggs
2 c. brown sugar
1 pkg. (7 oz.) chocolate chips
1 c. nut meats (black walnuts)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 Tbsp. water
Preparation

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Melt shortening; add sugar.
Stir and let cool slightly.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well.
Add dry ingredients.
Add water, then nuts and chocolate chips.
Pour into a 16 1/2 x 10-inch greased pan; spread evenly.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 25 minutes.
Cut into finger length bars an inch wide, when slightly cooled.
