Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    2 1/2 c. flour, sifted
    8 medium eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    8 Tbsp. cream
Preparation
    Separate eggs.
    Whip egg whites and add 6 level tablespoons of sugar while beating.
    Place mixture in refrigerator until rest of cake is mixed.
    Cream butter and gradually add rest of sugar.
    Add egg yolks, two at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Add flour and cream alternately.
    Whip until mixture is as light as possible (use low speed on mixer).
    At low speed, whip in egg white mixture only long enough to mix well.
    Bake 1 hour 25 minutes at 300\u00b0.
    Use a 10 x 4-inch deep pan.
