Jelly Roll Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. sugar, sifted
4 egg yolks, beaten lightly
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped fine
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. cake flour, sift before measuring
4 egg whites
Preparation

Add sugar gradually to egg yolks; beat until creamy and add vanilla.
Resift flour and baking powder together and gradually add to egg mixture.
Beat until smooth.
Whip egg whites until stiff, but not dry, then fold gently into cake batter, then fold in walnuts.
Pour onto a small cookie sheet and bake 13 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Sprinkle a little powdered sugar on dish towel and roll out cake dough until cake is cool, then unroll gently to fill with 1/2 cup filling, strawberry preserves or lemon pudding; roll and sprinkle top with powdered sugar.
