Monte Cristo Sandwich - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 slices white bread
    1 egg
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    dash of salt
    2 slices deli ham
    2 slices deli turkey
    2 slices American cheese
    2 slices Swiss cheese
    cooking oil
Preparation
    Beat egg and milk together with sugar and salt.
    Dip each slice of bread into mixture, coating thoroughly.
    Build a double decker sandwich with moistened bread, ham and American on first half; turkey and Swiss on the other.
    Heat 1-inch of oil in a frying pan.
    Fry sandwich, flipping frequently, until crisp and golden.
    Slice and serve with powdered sugar or syrup.
