Scottish Oat Scones - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    2 c. rolled oats
    1/4 c. granulated sugar
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. currants
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Put first 6 dry ingredients into a large bowl.
    Make a well in the center.
    Beat egg until frothy.
    Mix in melted butter and milk.
    Pour into well.
    Stir to make a soft dough.
    Pat into 2 (6 to 7-inch) circles.
    Transfer to a greased baking sheet.
    Score each top into 8 pie shaped wedges.
    Bake in 425\u00b0
    oven for 15 minutes until risen and brown.
    Split and butter. Yields 16 scones.
