Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk
1 1/2 c. sifted cornmeal
1 small onion, chopped
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 beaten egg

Preparation

Sift together dry ingredients.
Add chopped onion, beaten egg and milk to the dry ingredients, stirring slightly.
Drop by teaspoonfuls of batter for each hush puppy into hot deep fat (365\u00b0), frying only a few at a time.
