French Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 to 6 c. all-purpose or bread flour
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. vegetable shortening, at room temperature
    1 Tbsp. cooking oil
    2 pkg. dry yeast
    1 Tbsp. salt
    2 1/4 c. hot tap water (120~ to 130~)
Preparation
    Combine 2 cups flour, undissolved yeast, sugar and salt in a large mixing bowl.
    Stir to blend.
    Add shortening.
    Pour in tap water.
    Beat with electric mixer at medium speed for 2 minutes. Add 1 cup flour and increase speed to high for 1 minute.
    Stir in balance of flour, a half cup at a time.
    The dough will leave the sides of the bowl.
    If the dough is moist and sticky, add a few sprinkles of flour.
