Fried Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head cabbage
    1/2 part shortening and 1/2 part butter (to fry)
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Cut cabbage in quarters, then slice by quarters.
    Fry cabbage in shortening and butter until almost done.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    Add approximately 1/3 cup water (depending on size of cabbage head).
    Simmer about 5 more minutes.
    Before removing cabbage, add 2 to 4 tablespoons sugar over top.
    Cook another 5 minutes.
    Sure is good with good mashed potatoes.
