Boiled Cake(Ciste Beirithe) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter or margarine
    1/2 lb. brown sugar
    3/4 lb. mixed fruit
    1 lb. self-rising flour
    2 large eggs
    1 tsp. mixed spice
    1/4 lb. chopped almonds or walnuts
    1/4 lb. cherries
    pinch of salt
    1/4 lb. mixed peel
    1/2 pt. water
Preparation
    Put water in saucepan. Add butter, sugar and fruit. Boil for 3 minutes. Allow to cool slighlty.
    Place flour, salt, almonds (chopped) and remainder of ingredients in mixing bowl. Add cooled ingredients and whipped eggs to mixture in bowl.
    Mix thoroughly. Place in a 9-inch tin. Bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours at 300\u00b0.
