Stollen - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. active dry yeast
    1/4 c. warm water
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. butter
    2 c. sifted flour
    3 beaten eggs
    1/2 tsp. ground cardamon
    1/2 c. seedless raisins
    1 c. sliced candied red and green cherries
    4 c. sifted flour (about)
    melted butter
Preparation
    Soften active dry yeast in warm water.
    Scald milk; stir in sugar, salt and butter.
    Cool to lukewarm.
    Mix in 2 cups flour, yeast, eggs, cardamon and fruit.
    Add enough remaining flour to make a stiff dough.
    Knead on floured surface.
    Place dough in greased bowl; grease top of dough down.
    Cover and let stand 10 minutes.
