Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. oatmeal
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Pour water over oatmeal and set aside to cool completely. Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add rest of ingredients.
    Add oatmeal.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
