Fried Apple Pies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. dried apples
    2 c. flour (self-rising)
    3/4 c. Crisco
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    sugar to taste
Preparation
    Cook dried apples with enough water to cover.
    Add sugar to taste; set aside.
    Mix flour and Crisco together like biscuit dough until mealy.
    Add water and buttermilk (May add more or less butter until dough is like biscuit dough.)
    Knead dough; roll out thin. Use a saucer to lay on dough; cut a circle.
    Put cooked apples on half the circle; fold other half on top of apple half.
    Pinch together edges; prick middle with a fork.
    Fry in Crisco oil that has covered the bottom of a pan.
    Cook in electric skillet or iron skillet until brown.
