Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

3 c. nuts
3/4 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. pitted dates
12 oz. drained maraschino cherries
Preparation

Combine nuts, dates and cherries in a bowl.
Sift salt, sugar, flour and baking powder; add nuts, dates and cherries and stir until well covered.
Beat eggs until foamy.
Add vanilla.
Stir in fruit mixture until well mixed.
Turn into greased wax paper-lined pan.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
