Sweet-Sour Pork - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. pork shoulder, lean 1-inch pieces (1 1/4 lb.)
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 c. green pepper, 1-inch pieces
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/3 c. vinegar
3 c. rice, cooked
2 Tbsp. oil
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 3/4 c. water
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 c. soy sauce
Preparation

Brown meat in oil.
Add garlic salt, pepper and water.
Cover and simmer about 40 minutes until meat is tender.
Add green pepper and continue cooking until it is tender.
Mix in remaining ingredients, except rice, and stir into meat mixture.
Cook, uncovered, until broth is clear and thickened.
Stir just enough to prevent sticking.
Serve on rice.
Yields 6 servings, 2/3 cup sauce and 1/2 cup rice each.
