Lentil Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. dried lentils
    5 cloves garlic, crushed
    2 onions, chopped
    1 green pepper, chopped
    1 c. tomato sauce
    3 c. water
    1/2 tsp. basil
    1/4 tsp. oregano
    1/4 tsp. thyme
Preparation
    Wash lentils, drain and set aside.
    In a pot, place garlic, onions and green pepper with some water.
    Steam.
    Stir about 5 minutes until tender.
    Add tomato sauce, water, basil, oregano and thyme.
    Stir in lentils.
    Bring to a boil.
    Cover, reduce heat and simmer 45 to 50 minutes until lentils are tender.
    I like this on a sandwich.
