Chile Relleno Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    8 oz. canned green chilies, cut in half lengthwise and seeded
    1 1/2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    4 beaten eggs
    several dashes bottled hot pepper sauce
Preparation
    In a skillet brown beef and onion.
    Drain off fat.
    Sprinkle meat with the first 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper.
    Place half half the chilies in a 10 x 6 x 1 1/2-inch baking dish.
    Sprinkle with cheese.
    Top with meat mixture. Arrange remaining chiles over meat.
