Candied Grapefruit Peel - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 grapefruits
    4 c. sugar
    2 1/4 c. water
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. fruit flavored gelatin (lemon, lime, orange, etc.)
Preparation
    Using point of knife, score grapefruit peel in 4 lengthwise sections.
    If peel is quite thick, cut away some of the membrane. Cut peel into 1/4-inch strips.
    Place cut peel in large saucepan, cover with cold water and bring to boiling.
    Boil 20 minutes; drain.
    Repeat twice more, using fresh cold water each time. Drain thoroughly.
