Deep-Dish Apple Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 cooking apples, peeled and thinly sliced
3/4 to 1 c. sugar (amount depends on sweetness of apples)
3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 (9-inch) pastry to top pie (recipe follows)
Preparation

Arrange apple slices in a lightly greased 9-inch square baking dish.
Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Sprinkle over apples and dot with butter.
Top with pastry and bake\tat 400\u00b0 for 40 minutes or until golden brown.\tServes 6 to 8.
