Sweet Churn Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 lb. cucumbers
    1 gal. red vinegar
    10 lb. sugar
    1 box pickling spice
    1/2 box alum
    salt (enough to float an egg)
Preparation
    Soak in brine water 14 days.
    Remove, slice and soak in alum water overnight. Rinse, cover with vinegar and let set 6 hours. Drain vinegar and discard.
