Parisian Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 onions, minced
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 Tbsp. flour
    2 c. light cream
    2 c. milk
    salt and pepper
    toasted French bread slices
    3/4 c. grated Gruyere cheese
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, cook onions in butter until soft.
    Blend in flour.
    Add cream and milk; bring to a boil.
    Simmer 10 minutes.
    Season to taste.
    Put toast in a tureen.
    Pour soup over toast and sprinkle with some cheese.
    Grate some pepper over the top.
    Makes 4 servings.
