Meltaway Mints - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter (at room temperature)
    2 Tbsp. solid shortening
    5 c. powdered sugar
    1/4 c. warm water
    1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
    food coloring
Preparation
    Beat butter and shortening together.
    Add sugar alternately with water.
    Beat in extract and food coloring.
    Knead.
    Roll on wax paper. Cut in thin slices.
    Let dry on wax paper.
    Let stand 24 hours until dry.
    Pack and store.
    Keep in covered container.
