Strawberry Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large (1 lb. 4 oz.) can crushed pineapple
    1 small pkg. frozen strawberries, thawed
    1 large (6 oz.) pkg. strawberry jello
    2 c. buttermilk
    1 large (12 oz.) pkg. Cool Whip
Preparation
    Heat pineapple and strawberries to a boil.
    Add dash of salt. Stir in jello and cool to room temperature.
    Stir in buttermilk and chill until partially set.
    Stir in package Cool Whip.
