Date Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 stick butter
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 egg
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped dates
    2 c. Rice Krispies
    coconut for rolling
Preparation
    Melt
    butter
    in
    saucepan
    over
    low heat.
    Add sugar. Stir until
    mixed well.\tBeat egg.
    Add a small amount of hot mixture to egg.
    Put warmed egg back in saucepan.
    Add vanilla and dates. Cook until dates are completely broken up.\tRemove from heat and cool 5 minutes.
    Mix Rice Krispies and nuts in a mixing bowl.
    Add cooked
    mixture
    and
    mix thoroughly.
    Shape into balls and roll in coconut.
    It is easier to shape ball if you put butter on your hands.
