Irish Potato Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. butter
    4 egg yolks
    4 egg whites (beaten stiff)
    1 c. hot mashed potatoes
    1/2 c. milk
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 c. walnuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Beat sugar and butter together; add egg yolk.
    Mix flour and baking powder and spices.
    Alternate mashed potato and flour mixture and milk in with butter, sugar and egg mixture.
    Add nuts and vanilla.
    Last, fold in beaten egg whites.
    Bake in two 9-inch layer pans at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 60 minutes.
