Apple Drink - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. apples
    5 oz. sugar
    cinnamon
    cloves
    lemon peel
    1 pt. water
Preparation
    Cook sugar and water with cinnamon, cloves, etc.
    Peel and quarter apples.
    Put into the boiling water (syrup).
    When fruit is soft, cool.
    Serve cold.
