Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. flour, sifted
    2 3/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1 c. butter or margarine, softened
    3/4 c. milk
    3 eggs (whole)
    1 egg yolk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. almond extract
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1/2 c. chopped maraschino cherries
Preparation
    Sift flour with baking powder, salt and sugar into large bowl. Add shortening, milk,
    vanilla and almond extract.
    Beat on high speed for 2 minutes.
    Add
    eggs
    and
    extra yolk all at once to mixture.
    Beat 2 minutes
    longer. Line well greased and lightly floured
    10-inch
    tube
    pan
    with\tchopped
    nuts
    and cherries. Add batter.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
    Cool.
