Ingredients

2 eggs
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. melted shortening
1 1/4 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ginger
4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
Preparation

Mix all dry ingredients.
Add eggs, shortening and buttermilk. Mix.
Then roll out without too much handling.
Cut with doughnut cutter.
Cook in hot fat until golden brown.
Drain and enjoy.
