Pickled Pink Eggs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. vinegar
    2/3 c. sugar
    2 cans sliced beets
    1 large sliced white onion
    1 doz. hard-boiled eggs
    3 to 4 small hot peppers
    6 whole allspice
    1/2 tsp. salt
    12 cloves
Preparation
    Bring vinegar, sugar, cloves, peppers, allspice and salt to a boil.
    Add juice from beets and simmer for 3 minutes, stirring once or twice.
    Remove from heat and cool.
    Layer beets, shelled eggs and onions in a glass jar (with a tight lid).
    Pour pickling liquid over all.
    Cover jar tightly and refrigerate.
    Pickling takes at least 2 days.
