Italian Cream Cheese Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
5 eggs, separated
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts
1 c. coconut
Preparation

Cream butter, shortening and add sugar gradually; beat until smooth.
Add egg yolks; beat well.
Combine flour and baking soda and add to creamed cheese mixture, alternately with buttermilk. Stir in vanilla, pecans, coconut.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Pour into 3 greased and floured 8 inch cake pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
