Easy Caramels - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
1 lb. brown sugar
dash of salt
1 c. light corn syrup
1 (15 oz.) can Eagle Brand milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Melt the butter or margarine in a heavy 3-quart pan.
Add brown sugar and salt, stirring until thoroughly blended.
Blend in corn syrup.
Gradually add condensed milk, stirring constantly. Cook and stir over medium heat until the candy reaches firm ball stage (245\u00b0).
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and pour into buttered baking dish.
Cool; cut into small squares and wrap.
