Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips, butterscotch pieces or peanut butter flavored pieces
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
2 Tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. quick-cooking rolled oats
Preparation

Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
Stir together the first 5 ingredients. Add shortening, egg, milk and vanilla.
Stir with a wooden spoon until well mixed.
Stir in the oats and the chocolate chips or other pieces.
Drop dough by rounded teaspoonful about 2 inches apart into ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake about 10 minutes or until golden.
Remove cookies to cooling rack.
Makes about 48 cookies.
