Black-Eyed Pea Corn Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. Owens hot or Jimmy Dean sage sausage
1 small onion
2 medium jalapeno peppers
1 c. corn meal
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 c. oil
3/4 c. whole kernel corn, drained
1/2 lb. shredded Cheddar cheese
1 c. drained black-eyed peas
Preparation

Brown and drain sausage. Add onion and peppers. Set aside. Mix corn meal, flour, salt, soda, buttermilk, oil, eggs and corn together. Add first mixture and mix together well. Add cheese and peas; mix well. Pour into oblong pan that has been greased well. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
