Doris' Chocolate Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 squares unsweetened chocolate blocks
    1/2 cup butter
    3 cups sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 cup evaporated milk or 1 large can
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Melt butter and chocolate over low heat in a heavy pan.
    Stir in 1/3 sugar at a time.
    Add salt and stir in milk a little at a time cook over low heat for 7 - 8
    minutes, remove from heat and add vanilla.
    Use on ice cream or cake.
    Store in refrigerator for several weeks.
