Mom'S (Ruth Davis) Fresh Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 large apples, peeled and diced
    2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt (scant)
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    3 c. flour
    3 eggs
    1 c. oil
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. raisins
Preparation
    Combine apples with sugar.
    Let stand 10 minutes.
    Sift together dry ingredients.
    Beat eggs and oil.
    Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with apples and sugar.
    Stir in nuts and raisins.
    Bake in a greased 10-inch tube pan at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until done.
    Top with Caramel Icing.
