Savory Beef And Vegetable Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 1/4 lb. beef (for stew), cut into 1-inch pieces
    4 slices bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
    1 large onion, sliced
    2 3/4 c. water
    1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    1 beef bouillon cube
    1 c. sliced carrots (1/2-inch thick)
    1/4 c. rice
    1 large green pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
Preparation
    Combine flour, salt and pepper; dredge beef.
    Cook bacon in Dutch oven until crisp.
    Drain on absorbent paper and reserve. Brown sliced onion in drippings, 3 to 4 minutes.
    Remove with slotted spoon to small bowl and reserve.
