Gingerbread Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. molasses
1 egg, beaten
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/4 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
In saucepan combine sugar, shortening and molasses.
Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat; cool to room temperature.
Stir in remaining ingredients in order listed; blend well.
Roll out dough on lightly floured board to 1/8-inch thickness.
Cut with cookie cutters.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheets 10 to 12 minutes.
Cool and decorate as desired.
