Grandma Craig'S French Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. sliced onion rings
    3 Tbsp. butter
    3 tsp. oil
    1/4 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. flour
    2 qt. beef broth
    12 oz. Monterey Jack
    1 box croutons
Preparation
    In a 4-quart pan, saute onions in butter and oil for 15 minutes.
    Add sugar and salt.
    Continue cooking for 30 minutes, stirring with wooden spoon.
