Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 unbaked (9-inch) pastry shell
1/2 c. pecan halves
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar, 1/2 cup of sugar at a time; add eggs, one at a time and mix in well.
Combine flour and salt; add to butter mixture, a small amount at a time.
Stir in buttermilk and then pour butter into unbaked shell and bake in preheated 300\u00b0 oven for 1 1/2 hours (until pie is a golden brown).
Sprinkle the pecan halves on top of pie and let it cool thoroughly.
