Apple Or Pear Butter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. fruit, peeled and cored
    1/4 c. apple juice
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. allspice or cloves
Preparation
    Put fruit into a large pan.
    Add apple juice; simmer until soft.
    Mash with potato masher or with electric mixer.
    Add the spices.
    Serve over pancakes or on whole wheat toast.
    Yields 16 cups.
    Refrigerate.
