Ingredients

3/4 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. flour (plain)
1/8 tsp. salt
2 c. milk, scalded
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. butter (better to use cream butter)
3 egg yolks
Preparation

Combine sugar, flour, salt, butter and eggs.
Add to milk slowly, stirring constantly.
Cook over low heat until done.
Add vanilla.
Pour in baked pie shell.
Top with meringue.
Brown.
