Caramel Icing - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Combine ingredients and boil until mixture forms a good, firm ball in cold water.
Add about 2 tablespoons of butter when removed from heat.
Let cool, then beat until its too firm to spread on cake.
Add a little milk or cream to mixture and icing will remain smooth.
This icing never gets hard.
