Kielbasa Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 lb. good quality kielbasa
1 (12 oz.) bottle chili sauce
1 1/2 c. catsup
3/4 c. boiling water
1 bay leaf
4 whole allspice berries
1 large onion, sliced
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. semi-dry red wine (Lake Country red is good)
Preparation

Place sausage in pot with cold water.
Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes.
Pierce sausage to drain fat, then cut into 1/2 to 1-inch pieces. Place in casserole.
Cover with a combination of chili sauce, catsup, boiling water, bay leaf and allspice. Top with sliced onion. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake at 350\u00b0, uncovered, for about 40 minutes.
Add wine.
Bake 15 minutes longer.
Remove bay leaf and allspice. Serve with rye bread.
