Queens Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    3 slices cubed bread, cut away crusts
    3 eggs
    2 c. milk
    dash of salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    nutmeg (shake on top)
    raisins (if desired)
Preparation
    In a double boiler bring to a boil; simmer 1 hour or until a knife comes out clear.
    Layer brown sugar in top of double boiler. Place bread cubes next.
    Mix remaining ingredients (except nutmeg). Pour over cubes.
    Sprinkle nutmeg on top.
