Old-Fashioned Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening or butter
    1 2/3 c. sugar
    5 eggs
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
    Add eggs one at a time. Add sifted dry ingredients, then vanilla.
    Beat for 15 minutes at medium speed.
    Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
    (This cake will not rise unless beaten as directed.)
