Red Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 lb. red cabbage
    3 1/2 oz bacon fat or oil
    2 apples
    1/2 pt. water
    1 tsp. caraway seeds
    2 tbsp. vinegar
    sugar to taste
    salt to taste
    1 tsp corn starch
    1 tbsp cold water
Preparation
    Cut cabbage into 8 sections.
    Shred and cut into strips.
    Fry bacon.
    Add cabbage to the fat and cook for a short time.
    Add sliced apples, water and caraway seeds.
    Simmer until done. Season with vinegar, sugar and salt.
    Thicken the cooking liquid with the cornstarch and water.
