Scalloped Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1/4 c. minced onion
    2 1/4 c. fresh bread crumbs
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    dash of cayenne pepper
    1 (1 lb. 13 oz.) can tomatoes (3 1/2 c.)
    1 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
Preparation
    Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
    In 3 tablespoons butter, in small saucepan, saute onion until tender.
    Add 2 cups bread crumbs, sugar, salt, pepper and cayenne.
    Layer tomatoes in greased 1 1/2-quart casserole.
    Top with layer of onion-bread mixture. Repeat until all is used, ending with tomatoes.
    Combine 1/4 cup crumbs with melted butter; sprinkle over tomatoes.
    Bake, uncovered, 45 minutes.
    Makes 5 or 6 servings.
