Bread And Butter Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. cider vinegar
    1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1/2 tsp. mustard seed
    1 lb. cucumbers cut into 1/4-inch slices
    1 large onion, thinly sliced
Preparation
    In 4-quart saucepan, over high heat, heat sugar, vinegar, turmeric, celery and mustard seed to boiling, stirring often.
    Add cucumbers and onion.
    Heat to boiling.
    Reduce heat to low; simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Store in covered glass container in refrigerator and use within one month. Makes about 3 1/2 cups.
