Quick Brunch Strata - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 slices dry bread
    1/2 lb. chipped ham, Prosciutto or turkey
    8 slices American, Colby or Swiss cheese
    margarine
    mayonnaise
    1 1/2 c. milk
    3 eggs
    1 tomato, sliced
Preparation
    Butter an 8 x 10-inch (or larger) casserole pan.
    Place 4 slices of bread in bottom of dish (cut bread to fit, if necessary). Butter bread slices lightly.
    Place an even layer of lunch meat or combination of 2 lunch meats (ham and turkey are very good) over bread.
    Place cheese slices over meat.
    Spread remaining bread slices with mayonnaise and place, mayonnaise side down, over cheese.
    Beat eggs into milk and pour over all.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 35 minutes or until brown and bubbly.
    Remove from oven and place tomato slices on top.
    Return to oven for 5 minutes.
    Let stand for 5 minutes before cutting into squares.
    Serves 6.
