Five Day Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 to 6 c. cucumbers, sliced
    4 c. apple cider vinegar
    1/2 c. plain salt
    1 1/4 tsp. turmeric
    2 long onions, sliced thinly
    4 c. sugar
    1 1/4 tsp. mustard seed
    1 1/4 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients except the cucumbers and onion. Be sure sugar and spices are thoroughly dissolved (especially the sugar).
    Pack
    cucumbers
    and onions alternately in jars. Pour liquid
    mixture in jars.
    Seal and place in refrigerator for 5 days.
